When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Youri Borderie put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tanek Zurawski. Thanks to some nice moves Youri Borderie could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Tanek Zurawski however easily saved by the left post. Léon Sureau recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aymerick Tourrette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute of the match Les Pionniers de Touraine got a corner. U.S.Normande's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Léon Sureau ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Rhys Williams got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Les Pionniers de Touraine would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
