With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alain Girault in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dave Rinaldi saved Elegance Dijon from getting behind. In the 9th match minute, La Pointe Courte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Halit Fahri Falcıoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Stéphane Gaudy took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gao Yang Yan. Gao Yang Yan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Yves Leite recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halit Fahri Falcıoğlu in the 17th minute of play forced Elegance Dijon's goalkeeper Dave Rinaldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gao Yang Yan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stéphane Gaudy in the 23rd minute of play. Dave Rinaldi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yves Leite in the 25th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stéphane Gaudy in the 26th minute of play forced La Pointe Courte's goalkeeper Gao Yang Yan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Elegance Dijon's goal looked a bit too open when Alain Girault came free, but Dave Rinaldi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dave Rinaldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roch Felenak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute Christian Minaud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gao Yang Yan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, La Pointe Courte's Ivan Lidström got a free kick in the 36th minute. Elegance Dijon's Stéphane Gaudy couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for La Pointe Courte. In the 42nd minute Yves Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Rinaldi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gao Yang Yan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stéphane Gaudy in the 45th minute of play. Gao Yang Yan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabien Cantin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Yves Leite made the kick off in the second half. La Pointe Courte's Gao Yang Yan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stéphane Gaudy in the 54th minute of play. After 54th play minutes Fabien Cantin shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Gao Yang Yan and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of La Pointe Courte booed when Elegance Dijon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mamadou Forte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dave Rinaldi made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Alain Girault sent off a good shot on target. In the 60th minute Elegance Dijon were awarded a corner. Stéphane Gaudy went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Elegance Dijon's Stéphane Gaudy to fire away a dangerous shot which Gao Yang Yan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Stéphane Gaudy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gao Yang Yan having to interfere. La Pointe Courte's Josué Pagueguy was substituted for Cidro Flores. La Pointe Courte made a substitution. Pawel Harendarski replaced Halit Fahri Falcıoğlu. Dave Rinaldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roch Felenak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the game, La Pointe Courte's Roch Felenak nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dave Rinaldi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Dave Rinaldi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alain Girault in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st match minute, La Pointe Courte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alain Girault to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute of the match, Roch Felenak tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dave Rinaldi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Elegance Dijon's Dave Rinaldi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Elegance Dijon from getting a goal against them. The La Pointe Courte supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La Pointe Courte would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
