After a rather tough play, Le Stade Briochin UC's Dimitri Nedellec got a free kick in the 25th minute. Lev Yashin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hercule Basque in the 30th minute. Le Stade Briochin UC's Lev Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armand Mondon in the 34th minute of play. Jean-Marie Sanquer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ange Lochet in the 36th minute of the match. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armand Mondon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
