The La Scaloneta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling John Costes in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Prosper Gillard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If John Costes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, Madjid Pauly cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Prosper Gillard was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in RvdU 1949 FC's zone, Madjid Pauly stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prosper Gillard came out of the goal and Madjid Pauly tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Prosper Gillard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Dole in the 34th minute of the match. After 35 played minutes La Scaloneta got a freekick which was hit by Pierre Dole. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Igor Pucheu managed to get in a good position for a shot. RvdU 1949 FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Pucheu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ewan Davin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Prosper Gillard came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by La Scaloneta's John Costes. But to his dismay, John Costes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Prosper Gillard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre Dole in the 46th minute of play. Prosper Gillard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Madjid Pauly, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After the first half La Scaloneta were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Madjid Pauly was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Martin Engrand threw the ball into play from the sideline. RvdU 1949 FC's Severo Alfonso quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 55th minute, Faouzi Salaün hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Prosper Gillard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Madjid Pauly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute Madjid Pauly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prosper Gillard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, La Scaloneta's Faouzi Salaün ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Prosper Gillard. Prosper Gillard yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-7. Mourad Bonin kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Prosper Gillard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Madjid Pauly went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-8 was the resulting score. Prosper Gillard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Madjid Pauly in the 91st minute of the match.
