New Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Loja S.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, New Team's Leonardo Gox got a free kick in the 18th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ismael Rossell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauã Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Loja S.C. were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Peres to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Fabricio Vedeja made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Ismael Rossell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cauã Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Leon Golmayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Vedeja in the 89th minute of play.
