When Edmundo Falla fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. New Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cauã Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cauã Guerra to make the kick off. Cauã Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cauã Guerra scored 3-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Santino Mora, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Santiago's Macías Camazon got a free kick in the 57th minute. A collision led to Club Deportivo Santiago getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Jairo Adames hit a great ball. When Cauã Guerra came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the New Team fans jumped to their feet. Santino Mora dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. New Team's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
