The referee showed Johnny Arona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of PAJARRACO FC booed when C.A. GUAYACO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnny Arona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oso Amezaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Valdivia, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Sérgio Silveira did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Ordóñez Zalaca 28 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, PAJARRACO FC's goalkeeper Ordóñez Zalaca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caicedo Berrondo. Ordóñez Zalaca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Caicedo Berrondo's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Ordóñez Zalaca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caicedo Berrondo in the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Rodrigo Caborredondo came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the C.A. GUAYACO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Caborredondo couldn't finish the play. Ordóñez Zalaca came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A. GUAYACO's Mendoza Joseph. But to his dismay, Mendoza Joseph quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.
