Chucho Dean made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Parisi Carretero sent off a good shot on target. Paiva Escabi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Pernau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute Jorge Bojarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Pernau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Jorge Bojarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Bojarte struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Juan Pernau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Astillero del Guayas. Cojiemies FC's Juan Pernau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paiva Escabi in the 22nd minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Cojiemies FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paiva Escabi came free, but Juan Pernau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Paiva Escabi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cojiemies FC's Juan Pernau. Juan Pernau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chucho Dean made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urtzi Villafranca in the 43rd minute. Paiva Escabi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Cojiemies FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Carabalí Flamenco hit a great ball. Chucho Dean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Parisi Carretero, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Parisi Carretero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chucho Dean. Astillero del Guayas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Parisi Carretero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Cojiemies FC made a substitution. Vidal Ochari replaced Carabalí Flamenco. In the 65th minute of the match Astillero del Guayas got a corner. Cojiemies FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gustavo Oro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Astillero del Guayas's Gustavo Oro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Juan Pernau in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Chucho Dean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urtzi Villafranca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Astillero del Guayas's Paiva Escabi got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paiva Escabi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute Urtzi Villafranca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chucho Dean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chucho Dean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vidal Ochari, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, Cojiemies FC's Ramiro Anguciana got a free kick in the 81st minute. Juan Pernau was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gustavo Oro. 84 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Urtzi Villafranca came free, but Chucho Dean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vidal Ochari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chucho Dean having to interfere. Juan Pernau came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Astillero del Guayas's Jorge Bojarte. But to his dismay, Jorge Bojarte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Astillero del Guayas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
