When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Garcia Jado made a kick off. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Oro in the 57th minute of play. Aguinaga Nebot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Bojarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Simon Caicedo was substituted for Pinto Cubria. Stefanos Terzopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Chucho Dean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 68 played minutes Esmeraldas S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Castillo. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Daniel Castillo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Paiva Escabi in the 88 minute of the game. With a little luck, Astillero del Guayas's Chucho Dean got control of the ball when Torsti Puistola tried to sneak it across the goal line. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Daniel Castillo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Paiva Escabi, made in the 92nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ximun Tocos in the 95th minute of play forced Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esmeraldas S.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
