The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Hincha Pelotas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ulizes Sola came free, but Hendrik van Eijnde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulizes Sola in the 17th minute of play forced Hincha Pelotas FC's goalkeeper Hendrik van Eijnde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hincha Pelotas FC's Hendrik van Eijnde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zarando Eguizabal in the 18th minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ulizes Sola stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ulizes Sola might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hendrik van Eijnde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulizes Sola ran back to his position shaking his head. Hendrik van Eijnde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xaiver Ascarretazabal in the 61st minute of the match. Hincha Pelotas FC made a substitution. Rodriguez Cianca replaced Zumar Bas. In the last second Hendrik van Eijnde throw himself and got hold of the ball when Zarando Eguizabal in the 67thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Hendrik van Eijnde made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Zarando Eguizabal sent off a good shot on target. In the 71stth minute of the game Ismael Larrategui who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
