Gaitano Valdovinos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luis Alberto Lazcano firmly grabbed it by the left post. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Luis Alberto Lazcano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportes Santa Cruz from getting a goal against them. Luis Alberto Lazcano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaitano Valdovinos in the 10th minute. Gregorio Quintero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Luis Alberto Lazcano made a huge save. In the 17th minute Dino Scapini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Alberto Lazcano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Alberto Lazcano came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Cobresal's Dino Scapini. But to his dismay, Dino Scapini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 26 minutes into the game, Dino Scapini cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Luis Alberto Lazcano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 29 played minutes Club Deportes Santa Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Oviedo. Fernán Nancupel charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 46th minute, Danilo Diaz de Valdes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bairon Mateluna made a kick off. Luis Alberto Lazcano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Scapini in the 51st minute of play. Luis Alberto Lazcano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorio Quintero in the 54th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Romildo Madrid was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cobresal the free kick. A collision led to Club Deportes Santa Cruz getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Romildo Madrid hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Cobresal's goalkeeper Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bairon Mateluna. José Ignacio Allard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cobresal made a substitution. Andolín Duvauchelle replaced Gaitano Valdovinos. In the 73rd minute Gregorio Quintero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Alberto Lazcano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Cobresal players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
