In the 8thth minute of the game Francisco Alberto Zañartu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lautaro L.P.'s Salvador Ortega was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Lautaro L.P.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gong Peng Bo came free, but Salvador Ortega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Andolín Echeandía shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Grocholski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robby Woody in the 14th minute of play forced Lautaro L.P.'s goalkeeper Salvador Ortega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gong Peng Bo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iwan Grocholski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Marques in the 23rd minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Gong Peng Bo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Salvador Ortega. Lautaro L.P.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gong Peng Bo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, La Academia's goal looked a bit too open when Andolín Echeandía came free, but Iwan Grocholski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Alberto Zañartu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Lautaro L.P.'s Wang Peng got a free kick in the 42nd minute. A collision led to La Academia getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Maxín Bacarreza hit a great ball. Iwan Grocholski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reşit Beyan in the 47th minute. In the 48th minute of the match Lautaro L.P. got a corner. La Academia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Reşit Beyan ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Iwan Grocholski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Alberto Zañartu in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Ortega saved Lautaro L.P. from getting behind. La Academia's Putra Parios got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 61 minutes, Wang Peng managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lautaro L.P.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Wang Peng was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leandro Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Iwan Grocholski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, La Academia's goal looked a bit too open when Wang Peng came free, but Iwan Grocholski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La Academia's Iwan Grocholski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Marques in the 82nd minute of play. In the 85th minute Andolín Echeandía shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Grocholski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 88 minutes, Lalo Salamanca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Academia and the Lautaro L.P. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Reşit Beyan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iwan Grocholski. La Academia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Andolín Echeandía scored 2-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iwan Grocholski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lautaro L.P. succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though La Academia had controlled the match.
