In the 5th minute Francisco Alberto Zañartu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salamón Del Fierro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, CDU Católica's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Alberto Zañartu came free, but Salamón Del Fierro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justino Mario kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 21stth minute of the game Robby Woody who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CDU Católica's Salamón Del Fierro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner led La Academia's Putra Parios to fire away a dangerous shot which Salamón Del Fierro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The La Academia fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when La Academia's Putra Parios looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Salamón Del Fierro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robby Woody in the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Alberto Zañartu in the 39th minute of play forced CDU Católica's goalkeeper Salamón Del Fierro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iwan Grocholski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tauro Fontecilla in the 40th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as CDU Católica's Cristóbal Lataste slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Iwan Grocholski. That made the score 1-1 after 43 minutes of play. A collision led to CDU Católica getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Fernán Maas hit a great ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Robby Woody stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Orlín Amuscotegui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Grocholski having to interfere. Fernán Maas kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute of the match Maxín Bacarreza shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Salamón Del Fierro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Justino Mario fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CDU Católica's protests and gave Justino Mario a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th match minute, CDU Católica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justino Mario to maneuver through the defense. Salamón Del Fierro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 67th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Maxín Bacarreza. With a little luck, CDU Católica's Salamón Del Fierro got control of the ball when Robby Woody tried to sneak it across the goal line. Orlín Amuscotegui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Grocholski having to interfere. Salamón Del Fierro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Alberto Zañartu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74thth minute of the game Francisco Alberto Zañartu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CDU Católica's Salamón Del Fierro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. CDU Católica's Cristóbal Lataste got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Salamón Del Fierro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Alberto Zañartu in the 87th minute of play. With a little luck, CDU Católica's Salamón Del Fierro got control of the ball when Francisco Alberto Zañartu tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded La Academia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than CDU Católica.
