With a little luck, Vanadio F.C.'s Paulin Sequeiros got control of the ball when Agustín Alvarez tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustín Alvarez in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulin Sequeiros saved Vanadio F.C. from getting behind. In the 11th minute PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON were awarded a corner. Lukasz Klucznik went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Vanadio F.C. booed when PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Szczepan Bucyki didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Gordon Suarez came free, but Cafu Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Marcelo Zalayeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulin Sequeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Agustín Alvarez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Paulin Sequeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Vanadio F.C. booed when PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lukasz Klucznik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulin Sequeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gordon Suarez scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cafu Negri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vanadio F.C. were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maxin Oces took the corner. Vanadio F.C.'s Xaime Abar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cafu Negri in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Vanadio F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Marcelo Zalayeta scored to the left of an out of position Paulin Sequeiros, making the score, 3-1. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Cafu Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gordon Suarez in the 42nd minute of play. Cafu Negri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gordon Suarez's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Zalayeta in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulin Sequeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Cafu Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gordon Suarez in the 57th minute of play. Gordon Suarez hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Vanadio F.C. made a substitution. Leizarraga Olmedo replaced Evaristo Gurruchaga. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Leizarraga Olmedo put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Cafu Negri. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Millrick Portanares was substituted for Torcato Brito. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Rogelio Cosca was substituted for Usain Bolt. Vanadio F.C.'s Paulin Sequeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Procopio Mayorga in the 70th minute of play. Cafu Negri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bekir Çağan, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's zone, Leizarraga Olmedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cafu Negri came out of the goal and Leizarraga Olmedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Procopio Mayorga came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Procopio Mayorga couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Vanadio F.C. getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Bekir Çağan hit a great ball. Cafu Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leizarraga Olmedo in the 89th minute of play. Paulin Sequeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogelio Cosca's shot from short distance in the 94th minute.
