FC Smolenice's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomáš Jašo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Villarreal FK's Tomáš Jašo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Matej Bohuš in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Fabio Di Giambattista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matej Bohuš showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Di Giambattista in the 28th minute of the match. Villarreal FK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomáš Jašo in the 29th minute. Iván Sotomayor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Villarreal FK's Fabio Di Giambattista in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matej Bohuš prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 39 minutes FC Smolenice's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomáš Jašo who took care of the corner kick. Roger Peiro charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roger Peiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Roger Peiro hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Fulgencio Berdoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

51 minutes into the match, FC Smolenice's goal looked a bit too open when Fulgencio Berdoi came free, but Matej Bohuš reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iván Sotomayor got free with Štefan Semeno in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matej Bohuš took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Di Giambattista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the FC Smolenice defense, Fulgencio Berdoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matej Bohuš. The FC Smolenice fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matej Bohuš should have stopped the shot. A collision led to FC Smolenice getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Daniel Turek hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, FC Smolenice's goal looked a bit too open when Fulgencio Berdoi came free, but Matej Bohuš reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabio Di Giambattista might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matej Bohuš. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabio Di Giambattista ran back to his position shaking his head. 87 minutes into the match, Fulgencio Berdoi notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of FC Smolenice's Matej Bohuš. Matej Bohuš was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Róbert Ujlacký hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Fulgencio Berdoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Matej Bohuš tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Smolenice players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Villarreal FK.
