AFK Petržalka's Peter Pekarík was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Peter Adamica in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Ľubomír Smatana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Adamica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michal Hudák, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The AFK Petržalka fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 15th minute Ľubomír Smatana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Hrdina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Michal Hudák got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maroš Baránek's late challenge caught a AFK Petržalka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maroš Baránek helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to UFC Pivnica getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Maroš Baránek hit a great ball. Peter Adamica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michal Hudák in the 29th minute of the match. In the 29th play minute Michal Hudák came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Peter Adamica. 2-0. Peter Adamica didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michal Hudák went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. With a little luck, UFC Pivnica's Peter Adamica got control of the ball when Michal Hudák tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ľubomír Smatana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ľubomír Smatana to make the kick off. Adam Hrdina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ľubomír Smatana in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michal Hudák in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Adamica saved UFC Pivnica from getting behind. UFC Pivnica's Peter Adamica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michal Hudák in the 57th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Adamica narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peter Adamica came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák. But to his dismay, Michal Hudák quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. AFK Petržalka made a substitution. Nikola Krstović replaced Michal Hudák. Juraj Timočko made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by AFK Petržalka's Vernon De Marco. In the 83rd minute, Nikola Krstović left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AFK Petržalka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Peter Adamica came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by AFK Petržalka's Nikola Krstović. But to his dismay, Nikola Krstović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. The supporters of UFC Pivnica booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Obert didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the UFC Pivnica players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AFK Petržalka.
