When KOCAELİSPOR's Mbaka Mbolu in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gençlerbirliği's goalie prevented a goal. 9 minutes into the match, KOCAELİSPOR's goalkeeper Şemsettin Tuyuğ had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bento Aleixo. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muharrem Sebih in the 13th minute of the match. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Muharrem Sebih in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Gençlerbirliği's goal looked a bit too open when Mbaka Mbolu came free, but Marcelino Lacalle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Muharrem Sebih in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Şemsettin Tuyuğ saved KOCAELİSPOR from getting behind. KOCAELİSPOR's Şemsettin Tuyuğ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muharrem Sebih in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Bento Aleixo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Şemsettin Tuyuğ was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 32 minutes of play, Gençlerbirliği's Muharrem Sebih made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Şemsettin Tuyuğ was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelino Lacalle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Refugio Pagan, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Marcelino Lacalle came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by KOCAELİSPOR's Mbaka Mbolu. But to his dismay, Mbaka Mbolu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kristen Michálek during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gençlerbirliği's Kristen Michálek got a free kick in the 45th minute. Marcelino Lacalle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mbaka Mbolu in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Mbaka Mbolu made the kick off in the second half. If Bento Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of KOCAELİSPOR booed when Gençlerbirliği was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiph Låsberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Claudio Delgadillo came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the KOCAELİSPOR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudio Delgadillo couldn't finish the play. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bento Aleixo in the 57th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Bento Aleixo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Şemsettin Tuyuğ. KOCAELİSPOR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bento Aleixo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Şemsettin Tuyuğ didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Constantijn Airpoel went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mbaka Mbolu in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelino Lacalle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 67 minutes into the match, Gençlerbirliği's goal looked a bit too open when Refugio Pagan came free, but Marcelino Lacalle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Refugio Pagan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Marcelino Lacalle made a huge save. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muharrem Sebih in the 70th minute of the match. Gençlerbirliği's Marcelino Lacalle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Gençlerbirliği from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Gençlerbirliği's Marcelino Lacalle got control of the ball when Refugio Pagan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 92nd match minute, KOCAELİSPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeo Bâru to maneuver through the defense. Gençlerbirliği were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of KOCAELİSPOR for a fine match.
