Robert Vassenius made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Alfredinho Freitas sent off a good shot on target. In the 9th minute, Valentin Baristo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cyryl Lemiesz came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the SORRISO E. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cyryl Lemiesz couldn't finish the play. After 16 played minutes RB Chubut got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Gonsalve. Robert Vassenius made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Juliusz Cezar sent off a good shot on target. Jurand Deput fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo Leal having to interfere. In the 35th minute Jurand Deput shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Fernand Redondo in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SORRISO E. C.'s Kacper Sroka. In the 40th minute, Aaron Anselmino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jurand Deput scored 0-3 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edvaldo Leal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the SORRISO E. C. defense, Jurand Deput kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edvaldo Leal. The SORRISO E. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edvaldo Leal should have stopped the shot. RB Chubut's Isaac Mingo was substituted for Jurand Deput. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Gabríel Batistuta fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RB Chubut's protests and gave Gabríel Batistuta a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 played minutes RB Chubut got a freekick which was hit by Gabríel Batistuta. SORRISO E. C. made a substitution. Bernardinho Freitas replaced Válter Ceresso. In the 66th minute, Isaac Mingo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Edvaldo Leal, passed just outside the right post. Gabríel Batistuta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Edvaldo Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robert Vassenius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davi Isac in the 75th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Isaac Mingo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SORRISO E. C.'s Zachary Cwynar quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fernand Redondo, made in the 81st minute of the game. Isaac Mingo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edvaldo Leal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when RB Chubut was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabríel Batistuta didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to SORRISO E. C. getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Frederico Gomes hit a great ball. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SORRISO E. C.!
