In the 9th minute, Christian Håkansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute, Dolcet Bevia made a precise shot to the right of Håkan Söderberg. Degerfors IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. With a little luck, Alianza Trujillo's Ximenes Barnechea got control of the ball when Tuncay Cansever tried to sneak it across the goal line. Philip Kihlman kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Håkan Söderberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turi Sendin in the 24th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Degerfors IF's Tuncay Cansever slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ximenes Barnechea. That made the score 2-1 after 39 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filomeno Aramburu during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Verner Frykberg, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 81st minute Tuncay Cansever shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximenes Barnechea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88thth minute of the game Witold Serwacki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alianza Trujillo's Ximenes Barnechea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 91st minute Degerfors IF were awarded a corner. Verner Frykberg went to the cornerflag to take it. Ximenes Barnechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuncay Cansever, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Degerfors IF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
