Coritiba Foot Ball Club's 李锋朋 got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angel Comizzo was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and 李锋朋 capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. 李锋朋 really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Delfim do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel Comizzo having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Osvaldo Goren to make the kick off. If Osvaldo Goren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 51st minute Osvaldo Goren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gery Pattimura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
