FC Pegasas Siauliai's Eigirdas Liubinskas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Unai Simon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 16 minutes into the match, Candido Joseph had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Klemensas Rožėnas. FC Pegasas Siauliai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Candido Joseph was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 22 minutes into the game, 1989 Blxsk's Osvaldo Bidun nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

FC Pegasas Siauliai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robertas Ronaldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
