The corner led Karhulan Veikot's Teuvo Karjalainen to fire away a dangerous shot which Almir Severo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Karhulan Veikot's zone, Mai Yong Zhi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reijo Ilola came out of the goal and Mai Yong Zhi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mai Yong Zhi struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Reijo Ilola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio Santo André. A collision led to Karhulan Veikot getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Jere Noronen hit a great ball. Daddy Seppo's late challenge caught a Grêmio Santo André's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daddy Seppo helped the player get up and apologised. Reijo Ilola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Cabral in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Igor Czech left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio Santo André fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Reijo Ilola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Cabral in the 41st minute of play. Karhulan Veikot's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Czech was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Adalberto de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Jaime Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Almir Severo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aadolf Martikainen in the 71st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Aadolf Martikainen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Almir Severo was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. In the 78th play minute Jaime Cabral came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Reijo Ilola. 0-5. 82 minutes into the match, Mai Yong Zhi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Reijo Ilola, 0-6. 87 minutes into the game, Jaime Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Reijo Ilola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the last second Reijo Ilola throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cauan Barros in the 94thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Jaime Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Grêmio Santo André could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Karhulan Veikot throughout the match.
