An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcello Lewandowski in the 16th minute of play forced Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Pedrinho Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedrinho Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcello Lewandowski in the 16th minute of the match. Cristiano Faria's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pedrinho Guimarães firmly grabbed it by the left post. 24 minutes into the match, Leonardo Trancoso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edvin van der Saar. Tribos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonardo Trancoso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 26 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's Leonardo Trancoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edvin van der Saar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristiano Faria who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Pedrinho Guimarães when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A well-hit corner resulted in Zé Augusto Paiva heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The audience was convinced that Marcello Lewandowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedrinho Guimarães was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. 35 minutes into the game, Leonardo Trancoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Edvin van der Saar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Zé Augusto Paiva fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tribos's protests and gave Zé Augusto Paiva a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Tribos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Tribos's Cesare Ucci seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cesare Ucci the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Tribos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cesare Ucci had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Tribos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Castanheiro SC:s goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcello Lewandowski made a kick off. Célio Pena made in the 53rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Leonardo Trancoso immediately put the ball in play. Tribos's Marcello Lewandowski got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Marcello Lewandowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedrinho Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Eliézer da Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tribos made a substitution. Zé Paulo da Fonseca replaced Marcel Urbano. 65 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcello Lewandowski came free, but Pedrinho Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tribos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Iwo Kalak in the 67th minute. Tribos's Zé Augusto Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 76 minutes, Zé Augusto Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tribos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Augusto Paiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 77 minutes, Marcello Lewandowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pedrinho Guimarães came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Tribos's Marcello Lewandowski. But to his dismay, Marcello Lewandowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Edvin van der Saar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrinho Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcello Lewandowski in the 97th minute of play. The Castanheiro SC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Tribos from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
