Abelardo Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Lorenzo Candelario took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Silvério Netto. Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Candelaria FC's Gustavo Galindo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando de Andrade in the 6th minute of play. Adrianinho de Salles received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gustavo Galindo came out and tried to block the shot, but Adrianinho de Salles slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. Gustavo Galindo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando de Andrade in the 16th minute of play. After 23 minutes, Ambrosio Acosta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Candelaria FC and the Academia Militar MZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Academia Militar MZ booed when Candelaria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ambrosio Acosta didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Alfredo Tulio fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Candelaria FC's protests and gave Alfredo Tulio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th minute, Alfredo Tulio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute of the match Dedé Carneiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gustavo Galindo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 26 played minutes Academia Militar MZ got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Dias. Toninho Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Gustavo Galindo made a huge save. 31 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Galindo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrianinho de Salles. Orlando de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gustavo Galindo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Adrianinho de Salles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustavo Galindo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A collision led to Academia Militar MZ getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Orlando de Andrade hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, Academia Militar MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Peli came free, but Silvério Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toninho Dias's late challenge caught a Candelaria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toninho Dias helped the player get up and apologised. After 47 played minutes Academia Militar MZ got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Dias. Delmar Kelemen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Silvério Netto. Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The wind increased when Aureliano Izotz made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Candelaria FC booed when Academia Militar MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute of the game, Tomás Cearense landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 55 minutes, Everardo Henrico mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Candelaria FC and the Academia Militar MZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gustavo Galindo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orlando de Andrade's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando de Andrade in the 62nd minute of play forced Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Galindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aureliano Izotz during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute, Orlando de Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gustavo Galindo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrianinho de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Gustavo Galindo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrianinho de Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Delmar Kelemen fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Candelaria FC's protests and gave Delmar Kelemen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Candelaria FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Delmar Kelemen hit a great ball. When Adrianinho de Salles came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Academia Militar MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adrianinho de Salles couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Aníbal Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Academia Militar MZ fully deserved thier win.
