Petr Čech hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Cornel Vornic hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Victor Grimalschi hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, UFC Puturoasa's goal looked a bit too open when Paavo Salmela came free, but Thibaut Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paavo Salmela in the 18th minute of play forced UFC Puturoasa's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute Tero Haakana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thibaut Courtois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juha Jokiranta made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Petr Čech sent off a good shot on target. Thibaut Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tero Haakana in the 35th minute of the match. Stefan Vanghele took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juha Jokiranta. Juha Jokiranta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tero Haakana was the one to do the kick off. Juha Jokiranta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Vanghele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. UFC Puturoasa's Thibaut Courtois proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save UFC Puturoasa from getting a goal against them. After 57 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Michael Owen. After a defensive mix-up in UFC Puturoasa's zone, Tero Haakana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thibaut Courtois came out of the goal and Tero Haakana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the UFC Puturoasa defense, Tero Haakana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thibaut Courtois. The UFC Puturoasa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thibaut Courtois should have stopped the shot. In the 84th minute, Stefan Vanghele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paavo Salmela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thibaut Courtois having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The UFC Puturoasa fans cheered their team off the field, for while Manchester United FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
