One of Formentera:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Los Muchachos del 86:s goal. 11 minutes into the game, Juan Su was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Formentera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Muchachos del 86 the free kick. Ramiro Erasto made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Jan-Erik Lönn sent off a good shot on target. Juan Su fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Erasto having to interfere. If Jan-Erik Lönn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Jan-Erik Lönn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Erasto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Modesto Poncio struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Ramiro Erasto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Formentera. Justo Estefan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Pabla in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Pabla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Los Muchachos del 86's Joel Pabla got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Muchachos del 86's goalkeeper Ramiro Erasto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Osvaldo Sugar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramiro Erasto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Erik Lönn in the 62nd minute of play forced Los Muchachos del 86's goalkeeper Ramiro Erasto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Erasto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Erik Lönn, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan-Erik Lönn couldn't finish the play. Jan-Erik Lönn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 82nd minute, Jan-Erik Lönn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Formentera fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when Formentera's Jan-Erik Lönn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Formentera had played much better football throughout.
