The audience thought a goal was coming when Murillo Bittencourt got free with Doriva Simões in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19th minute CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ were awarded a corner. Júnior Tinoco went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Júnior Tinoco heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. With a little luck, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Doriva Simões got control of the ball when Tiaguinho da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Doriva Simões didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tiaguinho da Silveira went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 31 minutes into the game, Artur Sarmento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abutres 2003 FDP the free kick.
