The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nouvelle Vague's Nestor Beltza got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Damario in the 4th minute of play forced Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Caetano Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Icoara Football Club's Caetano Monteiro got control of the ball when Ramon Damario tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caetano Monteiro didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 6th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Walter Abacha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caetano Monteiro. Icoara Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walter Abacha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Icoara Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabrício Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Caetano Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramon Damario. Caetano Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabricio Frechoso in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Marcos Jaen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nouvelle Vague's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Icoara Football Club the free kick. The supporters of Icoara Football Club booed when Nouvelle Vague was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Jaen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caetano Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustin Abechuco in the 35th minute of the match. After 36 minutes of play, Nouvelle Vague's Ramon Damario made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Caetano Monteiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Icoara Football Club defense, Ramon Damario kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caetano Monteiro. The Icoara Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caetano Monteiro should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Agustin Abechuco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Walter Abacha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caetano Monteiro. Icoara Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walter Abacha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Egídio Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualterio Socorro having to interfere. If Fabrício Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd match minute, Icoara Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdo Lima to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Walter Abacha notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Icoara Football Club's Caetano Monteiro. Caetano Monteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Icoara Football Club getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Genílson de Queirós hit a great ball. Walter Abacha took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Caetano Monteiro. Caetano Monteiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Dario Celipe hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Fabrício Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualterio Socorro having to interfere. Caetano Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Abacha, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute, Marcos Jaen made a precise shot to the right of Caetano Monteiro. Icoara Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. In the 84th minute, Agustin Abechuco made a precise shot to the right of Caetano Monteiro. Icoara Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. Valdo Lima's late challenge caught a Nouvelle Vague's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nouvelle Vague's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
