Paulo Txatxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jayvier Joestar, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 9th match minute, Q. T. I. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Haitz to maneuver through the defense. Adan Claramonte's late challenge caught a Q. T. I.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adan Claramonte helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Q. T. I. booed when ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adan Claramonte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgardo Fuica took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro Haitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Januário Gouveia got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Edgardo Fuica got control of the ball when Nestor Chap tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor Chap got free with Edgardo Fuica in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jayvier Joestar in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Txatxu saved Q. T. I. from getting behind.

Q. T. I. made a substitution. Laureano Mercurio replaced Domingos Giraldo. German Veto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Fuica having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Adan Claramonte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgardo Fuica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Chap in the 57th minute of the match. In the 62ndth minute of the game Jayvier Joestar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Q. T. I.'s Paulo Txatxu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Q. T. I.'s Paulo Txatxu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruisko Perucho in the 70th minute of play. With an all-out effort, ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Paulo Txatxu threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jayvier Joestar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 76th minute Jayvier Joestar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Txatxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Haitz kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Q. T. I.'s Jaime Menendo was substituted for German Veto. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Lars-Erik Törnkvist was substituted for Ruisko Perucho.
