In the 2nd match minute, ZigZag Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gösta Messi to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ibirama Futebol Clube's zone, Jesper Vollander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruud Windmuller came out of the goal and Jesper Vollander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ruud Windmuller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gösta Messi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, ZigZag Athletic's Jesper Vollander sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruud Windmuller narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Jesper Vollander ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruud Windmuller was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ruud Windmuller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesper Vollander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th match minute, Ibirama Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Augusto Novaes to maneuver through the defense. Ruud Windmuller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesper Vollander in the 25th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Jesper Vollander put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Ruud Windmuller. Jesper Vollander might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruud Windmuller. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jesper Vollander ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 33rd minute Jesper Vollander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruud Windmuller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ZigZag Athletic's attentive Hector Ares managed to snatch the ball when Rafa Rossi made a throw-in in the 43rd minute of the game. After the first half ZigZag Athletic were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ibirama Futebol Clube's Ruud Windmuller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesper Vollander in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Luisão Sabóia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jesper Vollander might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruud Windmuller. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jesper Vollander ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jesper Vollander in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruud Windmuller saved Ibirama Futebol Clube from getting behind. Jesper Vollander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ruud Windmuller having to make a save. Ruud Windmuller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesper Vollander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruud Windmuller made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Gösta Messi sent off a good shot on target. 67 minutes into the match, Gösta Messi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruud Windmuller. Ibirama Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gösta Messi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Jesper Vollander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ZigZag Athletic's August Hökkvist was substituted for Jesper Vollander. Ruud Windmuller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from August Hökkvist in the 74th minute of play. Teofilo Distiratsu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Augusto Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute Ibirama Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Dedê Trancoso went to the cornerflag to take it. August Hökkvist scored 0-5 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruud Windmuller, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 85th minute August Hökkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruud Windmuller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gösta Messi got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 91st minute, Gösta Messi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruud Windmuller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from August Hökkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by John Cena during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
