The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Nemesio Ubendu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Rafael Martino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Club Sportivo Italiano's zone, Nemesio Ubendu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Martino came out of the goal and Nemesio Ubendu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 95 minutes of play Club Sportivo Italiano's Amadeo Oxel was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 95 played minutes Club Sportivo Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Oxel. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
