But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Hotz couldn't finish the play. In the 8thth minute of the game Francisco Hotz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquin Fonso kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dante Millan in the 14th minute of play. The throw-in from Gaston Joanes in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sportivo Fernet Branca's Honorio Arce. Dante Millan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 20 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Dante Millan came free, but Carlos Germano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sportivo Fernet Branca's Koča Branca was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Carlos Germano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Agustin Pacho hit a great ball. Carlos Germano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dante Millan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Millan in the 27th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atlético Atlanta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Koča Branca was slow to take the kick. During this time Sportivo Fernet Branca's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Koča Branca got away a dangerous shot. The tension between the Sportivo Fernet Branca and the Club Atlético Atlanta players grew even worse after the yellow card. Agustin Pacho in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alfonso Dalmai, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience was convinced that Dante Millan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Germano was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. After having played for 45 minutes, Paulino Frechoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulino Frechoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dante Millan was the one to do the kick off. Lucho Lema charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Sportivo Fernet Branca's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisito Seme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Germano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Germano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Millan in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the game, Paulino Frechoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sportivo Fernet Branca the free kick. Carlos Germano made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Dante Millan sent off a good shot on target. Dante Millan came free with the goalkeeper in the 78th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carlos Germano could save by the left post. Dante Millan might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Germano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dante Millan ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Dante Millan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sportivo Fernet Branca's supporters rose to their feet, but Dante Millan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Fernet Branca's Koča Branca got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 96th minute Agustin Pacho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Dalmai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sportivo Fernet Branca played a much better game than Club Atlético Atlanta and deserved their victory. The Club Atlético Atlanta players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
