Paulo Neves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Desiderio Frederik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blas-Armando Giunta to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristian Hoffmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Desiderio Frederik having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Hoffmann in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Desiderio Frederik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sporting de Gijón's Arnoldo Ubarna was substituted for Amadeo Panpili. But to his dismay, Paulo Neves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. Desiderio Frederik came out of the goal and Luís Fernando Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Hoffmann scored 3-5 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Desiderio Frederik, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pendotiba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
