Marcos Abellan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Melquiades Amor made a huge save. Los Gallos's Muni Cero was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Melquiades Amor in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 17 minutes into the match, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Abellan came free, but Melquiades Amor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sérgio Goycochea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Machado in the 18th minute of the match. Melquiades Amor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Abellan's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Arnoldo Amaya scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Melquiades Amor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Los Gallos's Sérgio Goycochea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Machado in the 29th minute of play. After some careless play in the Los Gallos defense, Cícero da Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Goycochea. The Los Gallos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Goycochea should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Los Gallos booed when CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Guerrero didn't get a good kick on the ball. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA from getting a goal against them. In the 37th minute of the match Los Gallos got a corner. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Muni Cero ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marcos Abellan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Melquiades Amor came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcos Abellan slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 39th minute. Melquiades Amor was out of position in the 43 minute of play, and Marcos Abellan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcos Abellan really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cícero da Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. Robert Bambas got a throw-in 53 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cícero da Costa. 54 minutes into the match, Los Gallos's goal looked a bit too open when Cícero da Costa came free, but Sérgio Goycochea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Tibalt came free, but Melquiades Amor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute Arnoldo Amaya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Amor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
