Stig Byström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulf Hedling in the 20th minute of the match. If Ulf Hedling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmund Püss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stig Byström having to interfere. Håkan Wahlnäs scored 0-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stig Byström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Ulf Hedling put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Stig Byström.
