Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gláuber Cardozo in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonidas Barrera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 10 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão Souza came free, but Leonidas Barrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonidas Barrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Fernandes in the 11th minute of play. Andrés Chavez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Percival Prestes came out and tried to block the shot, but Andrés Chavez slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 12th minute. After recieving a nice pass, REAL RIO CRVG's Durvalino Sarmento tried to score from far away in the 16th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Horácio Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. A hard shot 22 in the game by Andrés Chavez from a close distance when the talented Percival Prestes managed to make a qualified save. REAL RIO CRVG's players were relieved. Percival Prestes was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Andrés Chavez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Andrés Chavez really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Andrés Chavez took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Percival Prestes. Percival Prestes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Percival Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrés Chavez in the 34th minute of play. Roger Martinez hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Pedrão Souza suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Benavides during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. REAL RIO CRVG's Josué da Cunha was substituted for Pedrão Souza. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Buenaventura FC! Percival Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Martinez in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 3-3 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredo Fernandes to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Josué da Cunha could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Leonidas Barrera however easily saved by the left post. In the 54th minute Andrés Chavez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percival Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sydney Mazza charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sydney Mazza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Buenaventura FC booed when REAL RIO CRVG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Romel Torrijos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Percival Prestes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. José Pedro Simão hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 67 minutes, Marcinho Velloso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the REAL RIO CRVG and the Buenaventura FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th match minute, REAL RIO CRVG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcinho Velloso to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's Romel Torrijos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Percival Prestes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Andrés Chavez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Percival Prestes was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Percival Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrés Chavez, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 88th minute, Sydney Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Percival Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Martinez, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The corner led Buenaventura FC's Elias Benavides to fire away a dangerous shot which Percival Prestes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the REAL RIO CRVG players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Buenaventura FC.
