Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The Old Boys's Santa Luis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pepe Santoro came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by The Old Boys's Jairo Lizar. But to his dismay, Jairo Lizar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Haroldo Padro fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Old Boys's protests and gave Haroldo Padro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, The Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Padro to maneuver through the defense. Vinicio Bidari showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Guerau, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Rodolfo Guerau scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vinicio Bidari, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 19 minutes into the match, ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡'s Rodolfo Guerau sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vinicio Bidari narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind The Old Boys's goalkeeper Vinicio Bidari, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Guerau notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of The Old Boys's Vinicio Bidari. Vinicio Bidari was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ booed when The Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Eliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Rodolfo Guerau made a precise shot to the right of Vinicio Bidari. The Old Boys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The supporters of The Old Boys booed when ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaston Firman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pepe Santoro came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by The Old Boys's Jairo Lizar. But to his dismay, Jairo Lizar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡'s Celedonio Benitez managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gustavo Eliu in the 46 minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jose Sugar was the one to do the kick off. Melquiades Rodriguez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Vinicio Bidari made a huge save. When Sixto Cloyo fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Old Boys's protests and gave Sixto Cloyo a yellow card for diving instead. 66 minutes into the match, Melquiades Rodriguez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vinicio Bidari. The Old Boys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Melquiades Rodriguez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. Vinicio Bidari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melquiades Rodriguez in the 69th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, The Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Sugar came free, but Vinicio Bidari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 minutes of play, The Old Boys's Aquilino Lauren made it 4-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pepe Santoro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jairo Lizar in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pepe Santoro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The The Old Boys fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when The Old Boys's Jairo Lizar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Pepe Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Lizar in the 85th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Melquiades Rodriguez got free with Vinicio Bidari in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vinicio Bidari acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 89th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Exequiel Zeballos. Vinicio Bidari was a little too slow when Jose Sugar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 5-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
