Tomás Bertran came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Purple Talents's Michel Batistuta. But to his dismay, Michel Batistuta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 15th minute, Michel Batistuta made a precise shot to the right of Tomás Bertran. Devoto club social's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Tomás Bertran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diego Goos went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Tomás Bertran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Batistuta in the 21st minute of the match. 21 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Purple Talents's Michel Batistuta fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 22 minutes into the match, Devoto club social's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Batistuta came free, but Tomás Bertran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Purple Talents's Christof Bernage got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Tomás Bertran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Purple Talents fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-9 when Diego Goos sped through Devoto club social's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tomás Bertran. Devoto club social's Tomás Bertran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Batistuta in the 40th minute of play. After some careless play in the Devoto club social defense, Michel Batistuta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Bertran. The Devoto club social fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Bertran should have stopped the shot. After 45 played minutes Devoto club social got a freekick which was hit by Everardo Iliana. Christof Bernage took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomás Bertran. Devoto club social's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-10 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Michel Batistuta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomás Bertran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Devoto club social's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Michel Batistuta scored to the left of an out of position Tomás Bertran, making the score, 0-14. Tomás Bertran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michel Batistuta's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Michel Batistuta might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomás Bertran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michel Batistuta ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomás Bertran was a little too slow when Michel Batistuta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 0-16.
