Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ivo Claus started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Zelg FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Xavier Kirchner hit a great ball. The supporters of Zelg FC booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasco Jackisch didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gualtiero Nacht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Mokros in the 10th minute of play forced Zelg FC's goalkeeper Marian Anderjoli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uwe Ziege was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gualtiero Nacht showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Björn Mokros got a free kick in the 18th minute. Uwe Ziege showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualtiero Nacht, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 24th match minute, Zelg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurenz Sprecher to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute, Hannes Kapell sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Zelg FC's Marian Anderjoli didn't even have to move. Zelg FC's Marian Anderjoli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Claus in the 36th minute of play. Eugene Mullis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Uwe Ziege came out and tried to block the shot, but Eugene Mullis slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 43rd minute. A collision led to Zelg FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Philippe Vehma hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gualtiero Nacht made a kick off. Marian Anderjoli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivo Claus in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Zelg FC's goalkeeper Marian Anderjoli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sascha Andre Rennert. In the 55th minute of the match Rot-Weiss-Essen got a corner. Zelg FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hannes Kapell ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Björn Mokros was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marian Anderjoli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Björn Mokros came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marian Anderjoli could save by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Björn Mokros in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marian Anderjoli saved Zelg FC from getting behind. After 61 played minutes Björn Mokros could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 2-1 into the left cross. Uwe Ziege made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualtiero Nacht in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Zelg FC's Marian Anderjoli got control of the ball when Sascha Andre Rennert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marian Anderjoli made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Sascha Andre Rennert sent off a good shot on target. Philippe Vehma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Willem Migneault charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willem Migneault the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes Zelg FC got a freekick which was hit by Willem Migneault. Marian Anderjoli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Mokros in the 83rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beniamino Wunderlin during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 85th minute, Beniamino Wunderlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, Hannes Kapell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marian Anderjoli was a little too slow when Sascha Andre Rennert got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 2-2.
