Godofredo Malvin made in the 12th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ambrosio Isias however managed to control. 14 minutes into the match, Jari Welling had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gervasio Sazon. ORIZABA F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jari Welling was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jyrki Rajamäki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Javier Rosario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Eevert Hati's late challenge caught a ORIZABA F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eevert Hati helped the player get up and apologised. When the match was over Palloketut could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ORIZABA F.C. throughout the match.
