Rogelio Mouricio made in the 16th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Oscar Orzaize however managed to control. Widodo Reza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 19th minute of play. Matías Patrone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yahya Kılıçaslan, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Widodo Reza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Bierhoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by Rogelio Mouricio. 37 minutes into the match, Original Sabahan's goalkeeper Widodo Reza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lu Bin Yuan. Yahya Kılıçaslan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 38 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goal looked a bit too open when Yahya Kılıçaslan came free, but Matías Patrone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oliver Bierhoff made a kick off. Widodo Reza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 53rd minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goalkeeper Matías Patrone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yahya Kılıçaslan. Widodo Reza came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Delfines's Oliver Bierhoff. But to his dismay, Oliver Bierhoff quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Los Delfines's Victor Jerrold was substituted for Oran Gutti. Original Sabahan's Joko Waluyo was substituted for Yahya Kılıçaslan. Los Delfines made a substitution. Hector Abadia replaced Lu Bin Yuan. 75 minutes into the game, one of Original Sabahan:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 83 minutes into the match, Original Sabahan's goal looked a bit too open when Zachary Pliszka came free, but Widodo Reza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Widodo Reza came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Delfines's Zachary Pliszka. But to his dismay, Zachary Pliszka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Original Sabahan's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
