ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 顾广鸿 in the 18th minute of play. Marcial Chabier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 23rd minute of the match. The corner led ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Esteban Iztal to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcial Chabier despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Branislav Velchevski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Radomir Dranka went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Branislav Velchevski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adalberto Quaresma in the 38th minute. In the 46th match minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Gabon to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elpidio Francis to make the kick off. Elpidio Francis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Marcial Chabier made a huge save. Elpidio Francis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcial Chabier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Bonifacio Suarez's late challenge caught a Pituil FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bonifacio Suarez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pituil FC booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Suarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radomir Dranka in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Branislav Velchevski saved ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA from getting behind. 65 minutes into the match, Pituil FC's goalkeeper Marcial Chabier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elpidio Francis. If Elpidio Francis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Yorke kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Pituil FC defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcial Chabier. The Pituil FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcial Chabier should have stopped the shot. When Pituil FC's 顾广鸿 in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalie prevented a goal. In the 93rd minute, Elpidio Francis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2.
