Real Ayuntamiento CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Melquiades Ignado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waclaw Zajonc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Pedro Cucao came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Real Ayuntamiento CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Cucao couldn't finish the play. Real Ayuntamiento CF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Blažej Blazejowski in the 28th minute. Ritchie Stansfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ettore Brunetta, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 37th minute Dobromir Adamowicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ritchie Stansfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Melquiades Ignado the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Real Ayuntamiento CF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Melquiades Ignado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Ritchie Stansfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ettore Brunetta, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. If Damazy Tomaszewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
