Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kajar Püss in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Lamego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of SAO JOANENSE FC booed when Grimório was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aivar Kaalep didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Kajar Püss's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeu Lamego was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elói Cosme got free with Waldemar Pawlik in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amadeu Lamego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kajar Püss, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute, Kajar Püss ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amadeu Lamego was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Amadeu Lamego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kajar Püss's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Elói Cosme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Waldemar Pawlik made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kajar Püss stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Grimório were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after SAO JOANENSE FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kajar Püss took the corner. 57 minutes into the match, Grimório's goal looked a bit too open when Murillo Catarinense came free, but Waldemar Pawlik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to SAO JOANENSE FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Elói Cosme hit a great ball. In the 65th match minute, SAO JOANENSE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fabiano de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Grimório's Joel Lüüs was substituted for Renaud Van de Put. Amadeu Lamego stood somewhat misplaced when Kajar Püss came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 70 minute. Kajar Püsss short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Amadeu Lamego to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kajar Püss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Lamego having to interfere. In the 78th minute Alo Ülipikk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Lamego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Kajar Püss kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amadeu Lamego. That made the score 0-6 in the 79 minute of play. In the 83rd minute Alo Ülipikk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Lamego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Alo Ülipikk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amadeu Lamego. SAO JOANENSE FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alo Ülipikk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Kajar Püss put it in 0-8 from a short distance just to the right of Amadeu Lamego. In the 93rd minute, Murillo Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Grimório eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
