The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Administrativo Sport Club's goalkeeper Henry Gunnarsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Inter de Guayaquil FC were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Administrativo Sport Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Humberto Barragan took the corner. The corner led Inter de Guayaquil FC's Mateusz Giertych to fire away a dangerous shot which Henry Gunnarsson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Aragones came free, but Sebastian Hellkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8thth minute of the game Donato Sampaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Henry Gunnarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Éric Cantona in the 10th minute of play. Donato Sampaio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Sebastian Hellkvist made a huge save. Henry Gunnarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakub Ziombkowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Administrativo Sport Club's Henry Gunnarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakub Ziombkowski in the 16th minute of play. Humberto Barragan struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Henry Gunnarsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de Guayaquil FC. Sebastian Hellkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 21st minute, Administrativo Sport Club's Donato Sampaio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Henry Gunnarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakub Ziombkowski in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Éric Cantona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henry Gunnarsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 30 minutes into the match, Éric Cantona notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Administrativo Sport Club's Henry Gunnarsson. Henry Gunnarsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eleuterio Aragones in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastian Hellkvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sebastian Hellkvist made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Eleuterio Aragones sent off a good shot on target. 39 minutes into the game, Eleuterio Aragones lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated Sebastian Hellkvist. Henry Gunnarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakub Ziombkowski in the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donato Sampaio made a kick off. Henry Gunnarsson was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Jörn Svartengren capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Saffet Ataergin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Henry Gunnarsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Sebastian Hellkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eleuterio Aragones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Acutain during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Lorenzo Acutain hit a great ball. Aurelio Di Battista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A sloppy throw-in by Aurelio Di Battista in the 97th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Lorenzo Acutain. Inter de Guayaquil FC played a much better game than Administrativo Sport Club and deserved their victory. The Administrativo Sport Club players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
