Gustaw Fafinski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 26th minute Davide Rinaldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaw Fafinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Davide Rinaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Gustaw Fafinski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Herta Budino's corner Fábio Grosso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gustaw Fafinski quite easily take care of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

In the 55th minute, Davide Rinaldi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Herta Budino's Fortunato Sangermano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brandon Rick in the 60th minute of play. Herta Budino were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Hamburg Fighters's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fábio Grosso took the corner. After having played for 72 minutes, Davide Rinaldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herta Budino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davide Rinaldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Gianluca Balla put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Fortunato Sangermano. Gianluca Balla struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Fortunato Sangermano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburg Fighters.
