After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Wieslaw Maziarski managed to get in a good position for a shot. KS LEW Chorzów's supporters rose to their feet, but Wieslaw Maziarski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurício Bomba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wit Kasperowicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peep Pronk in the 24th minute of the match. Wieslaw Maziarski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Maurício Bomba made a huge save. Raimundo Porfiro hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Peep Pronk put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Wit Kasperowicz. KS LEW Chorzów's Wit Kasperowicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peep Pronk in the 33rd minute of play. Wit Kasperowicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peep Pronk, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

With a little luck, KS LEW Chorzów's Wit Kasperowicz got control of the ball when Alvaro Errando tried to sneak it across the goal line.
