Cássio Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikolaj Budzynski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Karhulan Veikot's Janne Töpperwien slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wit Kasperowicz. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. If Janne Töpperwien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wieslaw Maziarski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Ramos having to interfere. Wieslaw Maziarski's late challenge caught a Karhulan Veikot's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wieslaw Maziarski helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, KS LEW Chorzów was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wieslaw Maziarski to maneuver through the defense. Wit Kasperowicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Janne Töpperwien in the 20th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Gerhard Vejs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, KS LEW Chorzów's goal looked a bit too open when Janne Töpperwien came free, but Wit Kasperowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Janne Töpperwien might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wit Kasperowicz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Janne Töpperwien ran back to his position shaking his head. Janne Töpperwien hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Wieslaw Maziarski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cássio Ramos having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Janne Töpperwien to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes KS LEW Chorzów got a freekick which was hit by Gerhard Vejs. In the 52nd minute Janne Töpperwien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wit Kasperowicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by KS LEW Chorzów's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. István Vida was slow to take the kick. During this time Karhulan Veikot's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Karhulan Veikot's Hemminki Kuuttinen getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 56 minutes into the game, Janne Töpperwien cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Wit Kasperowicz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Janne Töpperwien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Wit Kasperowicz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute Stamatis Kritikos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wit Kasperowicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 minutes, Janne Töpperwien made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. KS LEW Chorzów's Wit Kasperowicz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Janne Töpperwien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, KS LEW Chorzów's Mikolaj Juszkowski got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute of the match István Vida shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wit Kasperowicz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Karhulan Veikot's attentive István Vida managed to snatch the ball when Wlodzimierz Zbikowski made a throw-in in the 78th minute of the game. Janne Töpperwien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Wit Kasperowicz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Janne Töpperwien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 played minutes KS LEW Chorzów got a freekick which was hit by Gerhard Vejs. When Wlodzimierz Zbikowski fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KS LEW Chorzów's protests and gave Wlodzimierz Zbikowski a yellow card for diving instead. Wlodzimierz Zbikowski hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Karhulan Veikot walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
