Barcellos Mineiro FC's Patricio Ugutz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tord Gustafsson in the 7th minute of play. Jorge Carrascal's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Tord Fors skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Jorge Carrascal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Ugutz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tord Gustafsson in the 19th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Smurfarna's Berto Romero got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute Amílton Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tord Fors saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arne Askstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Ugutz having to interfere. Jorge Carrascal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Tord Fors tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tord Fors took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisinho Uribe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Smurfarna's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Amílton Loyola was slow to take the kick. During this time Barcellos Mineiro FC's players had a chance to rest. Jorge Carrascal had several of the Smurfarna's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 35 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Tord Fors as he didn't even see the shot coming. Jorge Carrascal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Tord Fors tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 42 minutes, Jens Björling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Smurfarna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jens Björling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute, Tord Gustafsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Jorge Carrascal made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Jorge Carrascal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tord Fors was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. But to his dismay, Dale Dolar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 95 minutes into the match, Smurfarna's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Veloso came free, but Tord Fors reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 97th minute, Dale Dolar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barcellos Mineiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Barcellos Mineiro FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
