In the 5th minute, Klas Collin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute of the match Olimpiu Mustea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Márton Gombos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ionel Panaitoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alajos McAllister, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. With a little luck, Sporting Savaria's Márton Gombos got control of the ball when Traian Moldovan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ionel Panaitoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alajos McAllister in the 14th minute of the match. Christiano Soffia hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. When Sporting Savaria's Kálmán Mbappè in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Phoenix Strikers's goalie prevented a goal. After 20 played minutes Sporting Savaria got a freekick which was hit by Klas Collin. Traian Moldovan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Márton Gombos made a huge save. Alajos McAllister's late challenge caught a Phoenix Strikers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alajos McAllister helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th match minute, Sporting Savaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alajos McAllister to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sporting Savaria fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! A hard shot 30 in the game by Emanuel Mascovescu from a close distance when the talented Márton Gombos managed to make a qualified save. Sporting Savaria's players were relieved. Márton Gombos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionuț Romeo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Mustafa Orhan Gezer kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Kálmán Mbappè shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionel Panaitoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sporting Savaria's Kálmán Mbappè got a free kick in the 38th minute. Sporting Savaria's Márton Gombos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Savaria from getting a goal against them. Cristinel Eftimiu's late challenge caught a Sporting Savaria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristinel Eftimiu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Phoenix Strikers getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Cristinel Eftimiu hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kálmán Mbappè to make the kick off. Traian Moldovan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 52nd minute, Olimpiu Mustea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Márton Gombos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Mascovescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuel Mascovescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when Sporting Savaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferenc Beckenbauer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Márton Gombos came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix Strikers's Emanuel Mascovescu. But to his dismay, Emanuel Mascovescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Traian Moldovan in the 69th minute of play forced Sporting Savaria's goalkeeper Márton Gombos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sporting Savaria's Adorján Mónos got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu got control of the ball when Mustafa Orhan Gezer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Márton Gombos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Mascovescu in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Klas Collin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu got control of the ball when Alajos McAllister tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alajos McAllister scored 2-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ionel Panaitoiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Márton Gombos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Mascovescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Sporting Savaria's Klas Collin got a free kick in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Phoenix Strikers fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sporting Savaria had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
